Dr. LeeAnn Blackford graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. After 4 years in general practice, Dr. Blackford completed a 3-year residency program in small animal surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She achieved board certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1997. Dr. Blackford has been performing referral surgery in the Knoxville area since 1986, where her specialty is in orthopedic surgery.

 

 Dr. D.J. Krahwinkel graduated from the University of Kentucky and completed his veterinary degree at Auburn University in 1966. He completed his masters degree at Michigan State University in 1973. He has been a Professor of Surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences since 1975. Dr. Krahwinkel is board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, the American College of Veterinary Anesthesiologists and the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. He has authored numerous scientific publications and book chapters in his specialty of soft-tissue surgery. He is a highly respected speaker and has given scientific presentations all over the world.
